Plastic surgery has been improving with time. There were times when plastic surgery used to have too many risks involved. With time, things have changed. Now plastic surgery is much more secure than it used to be. The surgeons have been finding the new ways so that they can reduce the risk. But even then, it has not reached the perfection yet and that means the risks are still there.
Some of the major risks which are present in modern day’s cosmetic surgery operations are following.
Hematoma is the major risk. If the bleeding remains unattended, then it may cause some problems. In general, it does not happen. The blood which flows as the result of incision, stays under the skin. This creates a bruise. This normally heals with time but there are cases when it can cause problems in the regular blood circulations. In such times, the best thing to do is to visit the doctor as soon as possible.
Another major risk involved in the cosmetic surgery is the damage which may occur to an organ. During the surgery the surgeon may misjudge the movement pattern of an organ and may cause some damage to it. This normally requires another operation to get the things right.
Anesthesia risks are involved in every operation where anesthesia is needed. The wrong amount of anesthesia can make the things worse. Same risk is involved in the plastic surgery. Even with proper amount of anesthesia given, the patient may show reaction to it. This may lead to complicated problems.
The thinning of septum is another major risk. This risk comes into play when you go through a nose job. If the septum gets really thin during a nose job rhinoplasty, it can result in holes which would create a major problem and possibly the need for another operation.
